Thursday, November 26: Recently the city's forestry crew constructed a new Bald Eagle nest platform on Peche Island. Eagles nested on the island a few years ago and it is hoped that they will return to nest. The new platform is 81 feet above ground in a cottonwood tree along the north shoreline of the island. The large "nest" is easily visible from the mainland at Lakeview Marina.
