June 2010 Sightings in the Windsor Area
The existing nature centre will remain open during the construction of the new building. Please follow the signs and enter the building at the back door ramp. The front entrance is no longer accessible. Tuesday, June 15: Alan Wormington discovered a Western Kingbird at Brighton Beach on June 12. This is a first record for the Ojibway area. A Northern Mockingbird has been reported singing persistantly along Morton Drive near Ojibway Parkway. Tom Preney saw a Baltomore Checkerspot at Malden Park today. Hopefully this species will be flying on July 3 for our butterfly count. We have missed recording this butterfly in recent years.
